Well,
Mold lines haven't been much of a problem for me, haven't had more than
one bad sprue ever (course, those eldar looked like pac-men with legs).
Details on my figs are mainly for my my own enjoyment. I think I did
helmet, face, weapon, armor, pants, and boots on the IG army.. maybe a
little bit more on my squats. Wash and drybrush works well for
something that's going to be all one color.. like marines.. with maybe a
few details picked out.
Truth is tho, about all that anyone else will notice from across the
table is whether the base is well done or not. Flock, paint, whatver..
it's really the only thing big enough to make an impression and probably
counts for 90% of the appearance of the stand.
