Actually, he's experiencing the woes of Steven Spielburg. Read the book
and you will begin to wonder where in the hell that movie came from.
I actually enjoyed both Dinosaur books.
Of course, I must admit I got turned off of Crichton about a decade or so
ago when I read Andromeda Strain. If none of the main characters in the
book had existed, and humanity had made no effort whatsoevet to combat
the alien disease, the story would have ended exactly the same. A
pointless, totally pointless tale.
