        Yes, we (well, Aaron and I) agree with you in theory, but
we've discovered that the only really good way to stop fliers is with,
well, fliers. Since the Thunderfire is fixed, and Flak fire has been
found to be only marginal at stopping fliers anyways, I personally
don't think that the Thunderfire by itself is going to be sufficient
flier deterrent unless its range is doubled to 90m or so.

        The best we could come up with was that Gyrocopters could be
fielded as skimmers or fliers, determined at the start of the game.
Unfortunately, as Aaron has stated somewhere, this does horrible
things to the point cost balancing, and is sort of a special rule.
(But only one for deployment, not game play)

        So until I see a better solution posted, I'm inclined to
support the use of the Gyrocopter as the army's flier. And the
Overlord as a very large skimmer/floater/whatever.
