usually a problem.
It's what I like to call the Imperial All-Star Team. If your IG is ONLY
superheavies
and arty with nary a tac trooper to be found, and your marines are all
termies, landraiders and T-hawks, then it starts to look a little
funny...
As Francois said earlier, it's the "Best of Everything" that gets
annoying. With
the Imperials, a "stiffening force" of marines backing up or leading the
charge
amidst numerous IG should be pretty common. I can even live with
multiple marine
chapters unless it's "OK the Ravenwing, the Death Company, and some
Blood
Claws are on my left flank..."
Let it be mentioned also that I do have an IG arty co, sup-hvy co,
blood angels
(no Death Co though) Wolves, UM's (the majority of my marines), DA's and
Howling
Griffons (because being a masochist that's what I did my 40K army in
back when
the compendium came out, and I just gotta have 'em in Epic too, right?)
I used to use Beastmen & Ogryn to protect my IG heavy Co and Arty co,
along
with some RR's and Bikes. Not sure what I'll do under the newer rules...
As new people may not have enough mini's to throw out a one force only
army, they are exempt, but for IG I figure we're mostly 2nd ed vets with
a decent
selection so limited mini's ain't really an excuse. People who only take
the icing
and leave the cake are the problem.
Maybe a better definition of one of the Seven Signs of Chize would be:
Any Imperial army lacking tac marines or IG tac stands is suspect.
I would also apply this standard to any Eldar army lacking guardians...

(BTW: Chize <that's "cheeeeeeze", or, alternately"wolf guard
terminators"> is
the soon-to-be-born 5th power of Chaos. Do your part. Fight Chize.)
