Re: [NetEpic ML] How did you get into epic?

The way I got into GW and SM Epic was through a wonderful boardgame by the
name of Space Crusade (do I hear any groans?) followed by its supplement,
'Mission: Dreadnought (more gorans anyone?).' I acutally quite enjoyed the
close quarter fighting that no matter what the scenario, always ended up
with the three Sergenats plus two or three Marines fighting it out with a
dreadnought (or two or even three sometimes!). We'd even combine our sets of
Space Crusade (four sets collectively) to play a HUGE boarding action that
was a little too much fun (smoehow, I feel a need and want to play Space
Crusade now!). This interest in Space Crusade (it had some interesting
artwork)led to a move into Space Hulk (good game) along with its
supplements.

One thing led to another and through reading a battle report between
Imperial Guard and Eldar in an edition of White Dwarf, I got involved in
Space Marine Epic. Picked out the Marines (vestiges of Space Hulk and Space
Crusade) and just when I'd actually begun to get going, moved interstate.
After a long search for gamers, and after actually finding a few (very few,
you can count them on one hand), I was introduced to Netepic that honestly
didn't seem like very much at first, but it intrigued me nonetheless!

Apart from coming down with a extreme dislike of GW I've been making a, slow
albeit, move into the realms of DBM, Warzone, other 15mm games (soooo much
cheaper!) and tried to find something on Full Thrust (alas it seems very
hard to find here in Melbourne!) and terrain making. Wargaming, for me, is
actually quite interesting and actually pretty fulfilling (once painting
projects are finished).

E. Carrington.
