UUmmm I just posted one for you thanks all pat on back LOL :-). They
mounted
very large scale forces in 1st ed of epic, this be the reason for diff
army.

-->Only if playing in the Heresy or Great Crusade era, 10,000 years prior
to the current era. If you do that, there are no bugs, Chaos is limited
(no daemon engines, or daemon flyers, no LoB, and daemons and greater
daemons even more rare), and I have no Idea about the Slann. That was
then, this is now. In the current era, the AM are not mounting
offensives like they did in that era. They have withdrawn from such
acts, as the potential pitfalls are too great, and replacement parts for
Titans are difficult to get. They support the Imperial forces now, in
return for certain concessions. One feeding the other what it needs to
survive. Either alone isn't gonna stand for long.

As for the Knight think of them as the SW from Sm chapters, fast must
fight
for there lives every day, and way take orders from a bully that your
lightest Knight can take on by himself, like the Wolves.

-->I don't see this at all. the Knights are the frontiermen of the
Imperium. they are on the fringes of Imperial control (and outside of
it), and only nominally owe alleigance to the Imperium. They developed
their own means of defense (Knights), from technologies they brought with
them, traded for, or found. A single Knight hold is one planet
(generally), and all the Knights are generally the sole source of defense
for the planet. They do send out units to participate in Imperial
campaigns, but they do so at their own discretion, and not by any orders
from weither Mars or Earth. And besides, they primarily are from
agricultural worlds, not "mineral rich" ones.

The last bit I
think you have had too much space dust LOL, the Emp in new fluff will not
allow armies to get so big as not to controll, fear of losing control,
the
Imps, Sm, and the AM are all small type galaxy armies, this world having
this and that world having that. If danger should appear he would call on
what world was the closes be it SM, IMP, AM, or Knight.

-->Maybe I haven't had enough yet. 8) But, again, yoiu are comparing
apples and oranges. It has been fluff for the 40K universe, that the
Heresy era changed the structure of Imperial military organization. If
this is your justification for a TG army, then by the same token, SM
chapters should have unlimited numbers of any type of troops they want.
So you could have 35 Space Puppy Great Companies, or 99 DA battle
companies, with 34 deathwing termie companies. that was all possible in
the Heresy era too. But not now. the rules didn't just effect the Sms
and IG, but The AT and it's branches as well. the Fabricator General
Kane saw to that in the post-heresy reforms. You can't have one with out
the other, as it contradicts itself.
Now as for Imperial mobilization, it's noy quite that clean. A general
call is issued for a region of space to provide troops. SM units are
deployed on a basis of availability. Which means that the DA could be
sent to the Segmentum Ultima, or the Ultra-Smurfs to the Segmentum
Obscuris. The Am maintain forge worlds across the exspanse of Imperial
space, so there are depots all over,, and they do not come straight from
Mars. That, and keep in mind that the IG and SMs get priority in terms
of transports, further limiting AM deployments. Only the Imperial navy
has the capacity to move that much stuff relatively quickly. So it's not
just the tactical and stragetic philosophies that put them into this
role, but the sheer logistics of doing these kinds of ops.

Not well, the Orcks
attacked Fibbain 4 and have a huge Gargant army to back them, we better
call
the AM from Mars 20,000 light years away to help this Imp army world,
thus
the different armies.

-->If Fibbain 4 was a forge world, then there would be a preponderance of
TG, and no IG or Sm units. But if it isn't, then it's what I've been
saying. It's not enough of a reason, IMo, for such over specialization
in teh army lists. One Imperial, one SM is all that is needed.
