They perceive Epic 40K as a core game (ie.
Warhammer/40K/Epic40K).
They holy (unholy?) trilogy as it were. Robin Dews (who gave me this
info) is very unhappy w/his decision to release Epic an army at a time,
instead of little bits of everything, and then fleshing out the armies
over a year. Most retailers complain that people are waiting until
"their" army comes out to play. They are very unhappy w/Epic's sales
but are very committed to seeing it work. I think it's one of the
slickest rules the've made. It's certainly not a derivative game system
(as most of their stuff is). All of the armies will be out by March
(trying for sooner). Some pieces (like Eldar Titans) are being
rescuplted because the model wasn't liked.
