Oops. Well, let's see if i can justify myself (I can't - it was a
moment of brainfade / crossed wires when I came up with the "rule of 5")
- well, apart from the examples you mentioned, there is also the fact
that 5 is the maximum number of blast markers you can lose in the rally
phase. Also 5 blast markers has an effect in close combat as well as
firefights. Er, and that's about it. So, no magic "rule of 5" after
all.

This means that if paul is right, and SHWs take no minuses from blast
markers except the leadership tests (in order to move or set OW),
firefights and close assault, I can build a detachment of SHW-only vehs,
sit them somewhere and let them accumulate blast markers til the cows
come home. As long as an opponent doesn't get within 15cms, and I don't
want to move them, they could have 20 blast markers and still fire at
full effect.

What about counter-battery fire? I shoot at your artillery, forcing all
of the crew to run away or take cover, thus reducing your artillery's
effectiveness - this just doesn't seem to be happening.

Time to consult with higher authorities.
