Re: [Epic] Ravenwing Origin

If I understand this correctly, things happened like this:

1. The Chapters were originally organized as Legions
2. The Dark Angels armor color was black
3. The 1st Bn of each Reg was organized differently from the standard
organization of Legions
4. The 1st Co. was the veteran company & called the Deathwing
5. The 2nd Co. was called the Ironwing & was built around armor & an
Ordinatus
6. The 3rd Co. was called the Ravenwing & was a mobile recon unit
7. The fluff in Genestealer seems to indicate that the 1st Co. received
both its name & white armor at the same time. This would mean that
during the Horus Heresy era, the 1st Co. wore white armor.
8. After the Horus Heresy, the Legion changed its armor color to dark
green, except for the 3rd Co. Ravenwing which remained black
9. The picture of the 2nd Co. Tactical Marine in WD 129 was post-heresy,
but before the reorganization into Chapters, hence he was a member of
the Ironwing
10. The Legions are reorganized into Chapters. The Ironwing may have
been abandoned with the loss of the Ordinatus
11. The 3rd Co. was renumbered as the 2nd Co. & it's primary mission
changed to a rapid deployment force for dealing with the Fallen Ones &
Chaos, with normal recon as a secondary mission

The reorganization from Legions into Chapters would clean up a lot of
the minor conflicts in the background. This same issue depicts a 1st Co.
Deathwing Marine wearing white power armor with the statement that not
enough terminator armor was available for all of the squads. The Angels
of Death Codex states that the Deathwing wears only terminator armor &
does not ever use power armor. Perhaps after the reorganization, there
was enough terminator armor since the Chapter is significantly smaller
than the orginal Legion.

Thanks for the help. Did I get it right?

BTW, with all of the Latin terms & organization into Legions, why the
use of Platoons, Bn & Reg instead of Centurio, Maniple, & Cohort?
