Just a reminder to be careful out there. I managed to cut both my
thumbs in one slip last night, with a hobby knife. The tip went into
one thumb, and a longer part of blade slit the other. So I've got a
deep, narrow cut on one thumb, and a shallow, long cut on the other.
Neither are bad, but it does remind me that I could easily injure myself
by not being careful. So I thought I'd pass the reminder on.
By the way, I was trying to cut the end of a mole mortar off the base.
I've never liked the idea of shooting guns into the ground, so I'm going
to try cutting it off the base and the tripod and flipping it around,
and drilling a hole into the end. I took a bit off the top of the
tripod, too, so the gun doesn't stick up so much. It isn't done yet--I
have to smooth off the end and drill the hole. But I think it will look
good.
And for Chris Miller's sake:
Yes, I'll be using these as mortars shooting up into the air, not into
the ground. They'll be fired by marines of no particular chapter,
probably at brown Orks of no particular clan, or possibly at cardboard
cutouts. :-) (You seem to enjoy those heresy rants so much, I figured
I'd give you another opportunity.)
